Photo An Hour #2

As some of you may know I have started to take part in a really fun monthly online event called Photo An Hour. It is basically what it says on the tin - on a selected day you take a photo on the hour every hour of what you're doing at that time and post it on Twitter, Instagram or your blog. My fellow blogging friend Jane from Is That You Darling introduced me to it and if you would like to take part and be informed and reminded of the day that it's taking place then just fill out her handy reminder form with your details.

So this was my second #PhotoAnHour to date and it differed so much to my last one in that I think I was quite busy on my last one and felt like I actually had a life! I have to say that last Saturday was a little dull as I really didn't have much planned but I guess life isn't always as fun and exciting as Instagram would sometimes like to have us fooled. My Mum came to stay with us over the Bank Holiday for a few days which was really nice and we spent lots of time with our dogs, walking, eating nice food and generally chilling out.

A big reason why I quite enjoy the whole Photo An Hour event and looking at other peoples photos is that it's a gentle reminder that not everyone is having the time of their lives every day! None of the photos tend to be set up or well orchestrated as part of the fun is just snapping what you're doing at that exact moment in time. So for me it's a more real reflection of what can at times be the general mundaneness of every day life. And guaranteed all the photos generally make me smile :-)

So here are my pics in time order with a little description of what I was up to last Saturday...

9 am ~ Woke up to this little cheeky face fast asleep between my legs which is his fave position on the bed as I think it keeps him warm!

10am ~ Mr K made me up a little breakfast of some marmalade on toast (Vegan friendly of course!)

11am ~ Trying to decide what to wear which is my least favourite part of the day at the moment because the weather is crazy and I need a complete wardrobe overhaul.

12pm ~ This is my usual dog walk time at lunch time and they absolutely love going down the road to see the ducks.

1pm ~ After a quick visit into the high street I was home with a couple of purchases. I have never bought any craft magazines before but had heard these were good so thought i'd give them a go. If you didn't already know i've become a little addicted to crochet over the past few weeks!

2pm ~ It felt very warm so decided to enjoy a smoothie in the garden with my magazines.

3pm ~ Enjoying some chill time inside with the dogs. Look at that little face! :-)

4pm ~ Decided to give the Mollie Makes magazine crochet charm bracelets a go at making.

5pm ~ I was impressed it only took me less than an hour to make this bracelet once I got my head around the instructions! Still learning how to read crochet patterns but i'm getting there.

6pm ~ It was time to get ready to go out for dinner and drinks and my make up needed a little refresh. These photo is reminding me that I need to clean my make up!

7pm ~ We were in the local pub enjoying a drink before our dinner.

8pm ~ Enjoying our starters in the Thai restaurant. This was such an amazing plate of Vegan goodness! Not very healthy I am afraid but everyone needs a treat night right!?

9pm ~ Walking home after a lovely meal and spotted lots of snails on the wall including this little beaut.

10pm ~ Early-ish night for us and it was time to snuggle down in bed and watch a movie.

If you would like to take part in the next #PhotoAnHour it will be taking place on Saturday 26th September 2015. That will be my last day on holiday so I will still try to take part if I have wifi.

See you there!

  1. Love your dog piccies. They look like they had a marvelous day.I need to learn how to crochet.X

  2. I love the idea of photo an hour, you have managed to do something different for everything. I don't think that I would have been able to fill it! And your dogs are literally adorable!
    Love, Amie ❤

  3. I agree with what you said about seeing other people's days, and remembering that people are having totally ordinary days. I love the 'mundane' photos as much as I love the exciting ones - they are true lifestyle photos, rather than the staged ones!

I hope you can join in with the next one; if you can't upload, then just take the photos and do a blog post anyway!
